APPROACH & STRATEGY For the project under reference, we apply the approach that counseling helps affected or high-risk individuals to determine as how to avoid infection and deciding whether to take a test or not in knowing how infection is transmitted. In other words counseling gears up the people, motivate them to interpret information, analyze it and act on it. The approach believes towards helping people to cope up with the stress and fears regarding their potential or actual infection with HIV. This is achieved by implementing strategies described hereunder: Direct intervention by generating awareness through two-way means of communication on Telephone, which is absolutely confidential. Guide them through personal counseling sessions. Sensitize general public about tele counseling service, distribution of IEC material on STD, HIV & AIDS and display the STD, HIV & AIDS related production and publication. ACTIVITIES To provide wide publicity to the tele counseling centre and services offered by it To undertake designing, Production and distribution of pamphlets, stickers, Hand Bills, posters, wall writing, banner and Creation of display boards to make people aware about STD, HIV & AIDS and 1097 Tele counseling service.
